Responsible or Sustainable tourism is which does not have a major negative impact on tourism spots especially natural heritage properties. The negative effect taken into account is not only environmental but culture as well.

Most of our heritage be it natural or archeological were earlier free hold for local communities. Local communities drew sustenance from natural resource and income generating potential of these places.  

Responsible tourism is holistic. It has positive effect on relationship between local communities, tourists, tourism companies and the administration. Sustainable tourism means having a low negative impact on the environment and respecting and preserving local cultures.  

Preserving natural resources, ecosystems, historical monuments and profit sharing with locals are the primary goals of responsible tourism. The involvement of local communities in tourism leads to their sustenance through employment, and subsequently their skill development. This guarantees future employment and in turn helps in conservation. The involvement of local communities is critical to conservation of ecosystems and our natural heritage.  

Responsible tourism movement is a growing industry which searches for means to further its cause. Greater effort is in discover renewable resource and conserving what ever is required from nature.  The crux is that all those involved in tourism are responsible for upkeep, maintenance and preservation of what we have inherited.
